Adventure Camp!

A reminder to all! We are pleased that we will be again taking a limited group of young people on an Adventure Camp. Please let as many as possible know about this tremendous opportunity. It is a very physically demanding trip but one that these teens will remember for a lifetime!

From the website:

This year we will be headed for the wilds of the Adirondacks where we will be combining canoeing, backpacking and a host of other challenging events that will get to that "itch" you can't seem to reach. This trip is not for the faint of heart - so whiners - stay home! There is only room for 16 teens. If you are entering 9th grade, or are a graduating senior then get your application in as we expect to fill the registration quickly. For more questions, or info, contact Larry Thompson at lilolilarry@gmail.com See ya on the trail!
Campers should arrive the Saturday prior to Pre-Teen 2 and can expect to return the following Friday night or early Saturday morning.

Emmaus CMS week

Larry Thompson, Al McIntee and Terry Wilson were pleased to represent Camp Li-Lo-Li at the recent Christian Ministry Seminars at Emmaus Bible College. Thirty-five Christian organizations were given the opportunity to present their ministries to interested students. Several students have expressed an interest in serving at camp this summer. The weekend also gave us an opportunity to connect with Emmaus as well as leaders of other camp ministries.
In addition to our presentation and booth, we were given an opportunity to lead a seminar on linking spiritual applications into games and activities. We thank Larry Thompson for heading that up and producing several memorable sessions for young people.

Recommended Reading

ECS Ministries (formerly Emmaus Correspondence School) has published a new book by Chuck Gianotti called The Formation of the New Testament. It is a great book for believers who want to help strengthen their faith and the understanding of others. It is easy to read and easy to understand, in spite of it's technical nature and makes a great gift for those struggling with the validity of Scripture.

It can be ordered by following the link below:

The Formation of the New Testament:
Your No-Nonsense Guide to Understanding
Its Authenticity and Credibility.

The Christian faith rises or falls on the historical credibility of the Bible, particularly the New Testament documents. In today’s post-modern culture, Christians and those searching for answers face numerous questions including:
  • Are the New Testament writings historically reliable?
  • How do we know those books are authoritative?
  • Who decided which documents to include?
  • What about the apocryphal or deutero-canonical writings?
  • Can we know for certain that the Bible is accurate and complete?
This book reduces the large volume of available (yet very technical) information on the subject by providing a concise analysis of the facts to help you gain confidence in the credibility of the New Testament canon.
